Government of Sindh has established Social Protection Department (SPD) with the responsibility to interalia design a robust social protection system in the province in coordination with the provincial line departments, federal government, donor agencies and other stakeholders vide SGA&CD Notification No. SORI(SGA&CD)1-112/2022 dated: 18th May, 2022.

The department is mandated with the responsibility of formulating and implementing social protection policies and programs tailored to meet the specific needs of vulnerable segments of the population. The overarching goal is to establish a robust social protection system at the provincial level, emphasizing effective coordination within the provincial and federal governments. The department aims to integrate various social protection interventions for maximum impact, working towards the development of a comprehensive and efficient social protection framework.
